 About ten years ago,
after a visit to the Parco dei Mostri, we made a walk in the
surroundings and reached the top of the hill Catigliano. The
nature was wild and the view spectacular, as it still is today. We
decided spontaneously to buy the land with the old constructions
on it. When the restoration began, this construction appeared to
be the home of an owl (civetta in Italian). The civetta is the
symbol of Athena, the Greek goddess of wisdom and knowledge.
Moreover, according to the Italians, the civetta brings good
fortune. This is the origin of the guesthouse’s name: La Civetta.
